Beginnings

Friends of China Foundation (FOC) was founded in 1987 as a non-governmental charity. It is an independent, tax-exempt foundation registered in Hong Kong. Its main China Office is in Chengdu, Sichuan. In China FOC is registered with the State Bureau for Foreign Experts in Beijing.

FOC was founded in response to two factors: On the one hand, China’s request for foreign experts, and, on the other hand, the growing concern and interest in China among professionals from all over the world.

FOC exists to be a bridge linking China and such foreign friends, and seeks to facilitate their placement, orientation and support.
